| 1:7 صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ | Ṣirāṭ alladhīna an‘amta ‘alayhim ghayri l-maghḍūbi ‘alayhim wa la ḍ-ḍāllīn<br>সিরাতাল্লাযিনা আন‘আমতা ‘আলাইহিম গাইরিল মাগদুবি ‘আলাইহিম ওয়ালা দ্দাল্লিন | The path of those You have blessed, not of those who have earned Your anger nor of those who go astray.<br>তাদের পথ, যাদের প্রতি তুমি অনুগ্রহ করেছ, তাদের নয়, যারা তোমার গজবের শিকার হয়েছে এবং যারা পথভ্রষ্ট। | أَنْعَمْتَ (an‘amta): Root ن-ع-م (n-‘-m) = to bestow favor. مَغْضُوب (maghḍūb): Root غ-ض-ب (gh-ḍ-b) = anger. ضَالِّين (ḍāllīn): Root ض-ل-ل (ḍ-l-l) = to go astray. | Hebrew: נעם (na‘am) = to be pleasant, זעם (za‘am) = anger, תעה (ta‘ah) = to go astray, Aramaic: דלל (dalal) = to err | The straight path is that of the prophets, truthful, martyrs, and righteous; not the path of those who incurred wrath (e.g., rejecters) or went astray (e.g., those who lost the way). | Quran 4:69: "And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger... those are with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor..." 5:54 - "O you who have believed, take not the Jews and the Christians as allies..." |
