Based on Robert Monroe's writings, particularly in his books Far Journeys and Ultimate Journey, he described a concept analogous to "soul harvesting" based on information he reported gaining during his out-of-body experiences (OBEs).
Monroe's work on OBEs was a precursor to and foundational for many remote viewing protocols, such as the Gateway Experience, which was explored by the CIA.
Here are the key concepts Monroe outlined:
"Loosh": This is the term Monroe coined for a specific form of energy. He described it as a "spiritual life force" or emotional energy generated by all living beings, including humans.
The Harvesters: Monroe claimed to have encountered non-physical, "trans-dimensional" beings (sometimes described by others in related theories as "Archons" or "Reptilians") who feed on this energy.
The Harvesting "Farm": According to this theory, Earth functions as a "farm" designed to cultivate and harvest "loosh." These beings allegedly feed on high-intensity emotional energy, particularly negative-spectrum emotions like fear, anger, anxiety, and suffering.
The Reincarnation Cycle: The concept is often linked to Gnostic beliefs. In this view, the "light" seen at death is a "trap" or mechanism used by these beings to wipe a soul's memory and send it back to Earth (reincarnation) to continue producing "loosh." This creates a repeating cycle of "soul harvesting."
Monroe's alleged "remote viewing" or OBEs into these non-physical realms led him to conclude that the purpose of this "farm" was to generate this spiritual "food source" for these other-dimensional entities.

The Discovery
During his extensive explorations of non-physical realities (which he called "Locales"), Monroe reported encountering highly advanced, intelligent, non-corporeal beings. In one specific encounter, a "light being" allegedly communicated information to him about the true nature of Earth and humanity.
The "Loosh" Farm
According to this narrative, Earth is an artificially created "garden" or "farm." Its primary purpose is to cultivate and harvest a specific kind of energy, which Monroe termed "loosh."
"Loosh" is described as the energy of consciousness. It is the etheric, emotional, and spiritual life force generated by living beings. While all life produces it, the most potent and desirable form of "loosh" for the "harvesters" is generated by intense, negative human emotions. These include fear, terror, suffering, hatred, anxiety, and anger.
The Harvesters
The beings who created and maintain this "farm" are described as "trans-dimensional" or "other-dimensional." Later interpretations of Monroe's work, and reports from others at his institute, sometimes described these beings as "Reptilian" or "Archon-like" entities operating from a different dimension (like the 4th dimension).
These beings allegedly subsist on "loosh" as their food source, using it to extend their own lifespans. They are depicted as parasitic, viewing humanity as livestock.
The Mechanism of the Harvest
Monroe's narrative describes a complex system to ensure the continuous production and harvesting of this energy:
The Reincarnation Cycle: The system's cornerstone is the cycle of reincarnation. When a human dies, their soul (or consciousness) leaves the physical body.
The "Afterlife Trap": The soul then perceives a brilliant, comforting "light." This light is often perceived as heaven, God, or a reunion with deceased loved ones. According to this narrative, this light is a "trap" or processing mechanism.
Memory Wipe and Recycling: Upon entering the light, the soul's memories of its past life and its true nature are "wiped." It is then "recycled" back to Earth into a new physical body. This ensures the soul remains trapped in the physical world, unaware of its status, and continues to produce emotional "loosh" through the struggles and suffering of human life.
This concept frames the future of humanity (and its past) as a continuous cycle of "soul harvesting," where souls are endlessly recycled to serve as an energy source for these other-dimensional beings. Monroe's ultimate personal goal, as reflected in his Ultimate Journey, was to find a way to break this cycle and achieve true "escape velocity" from the farm, gathering all parts of his consciousness to move beyond this system.
